Booking Our Scape Park Excursion

We booked our Scape Park excursion at our resort. We had previously purchased some excursion vouchers with Amstar when we initially booked our trip. IMPORTANT TIP! If booking with Amstar, be sure to keep the piece of paper the Amstar representative gives you at the airport. There is an exact date/time that you need to meet your Amstar representative in your resort lobby to schedule your departure pickup. If you purchased excursion vouchers, this is who you will need to book your excursion with as well. If you don’t show up at the time written on that piece of paper, you could have issues rescheduling with your Amstar representative. For some reason, we didn’t look closely at that paper (the airport was a whirlwind), so we ended up missing our appointment. Thankfully our resort concierge helped us get it all sorted out, but it was an avoidable hassle! So, just keep that paper, and show up when they say to show up.
Additional Excursion Companies
If you didn’t purchase excursion vouchers, you’ll be able to take advantage of the multiple excursion companies available in your resort lobby. They have pamphlets about each excursion option and can answer any questions. Plus, transportation to and from the excursion is included in most of these packages.
Pricing
We paid around $150 per person for our excursion to Scape Park Cap Cana. For all the activities available at Scape Park, and the transportation to and from, we felt this was a really good price.
Booking in Advance Vs. Booking at Your Resort
Comparing the prices being offered at the resort vs. the prices that were available during booking, the prices were pretty much the same. So, I don’t think it makes a big difference if you purchase in advance or wait to book at your resort. The reason we wanted to wait to book was because we didn’t want to have to choose the date for our excursion in advance. We felt like it would make more sense to get to the resort, check everything out, and then decide what day we thought made the most sense to do an excursion. This way we could work around weather if need be as well.
Transportation to Scape Park Cap Cana
Transportation to Scape Park
The cost of transportation to Scape Park, Cap Cana, was included in our excursion. When we booked our excursion to Scape Park, we were given a specific time to be at our resort lobby to be picked up. The bus arrived on time, and the driver had a list of names for each pickup. From there, the bus made stops at other resorts to pick up additional passengers. I’d say this process took about 30 minutes. Once everyone was on board, the drive to Scape Park took around 50 minutes. When you arrive, the driver will let everyone know what time to be back at the bus for departure.
Transportation From Scape Park
The park closes at 4:30, and I believe we were told to be back at the bus by 4:00. We did have one passenger who never showed up, so we ended up waiting around 30 minutes before leaving. Luckily, we were among the first to be dropped off at our resort, so we didn’t have to sit through too many drop-offs on the way back.
Checking in at Scape Park
Check-in at Scape Park was a breeze. It was maybe a 5 to 10 minute wait in line. You do have to fill out some forms when you get there, and if you have kids with you, you’ll have a few additional forms. Then, after check-in, employees guide you to the park entrance.
Scape Park Maps and Getting Around
There is a big park map right when you enter the park (photo from October 2024 below). I recommend taking a photo of the map, so you can have it handy. Honestly, the park map was confusing. It definitely isn’t to scale, so we ended up doing things in a weird order. It would have been nice if the map showed a realistic walking distance between attractions. The map just makes it look like they are all really close together, and they are not. One of the attractions is a VERY long walk. We would have done things in a different order, if we had known that in advance.

Zipline Confusion
We were also quite confused about how the zip lines worked. The map did not make it obvious. We kept seeing people ziplining all around us, but we could not figure out where to actually get ON the ziplines. So, we wasted quite a bit of time walking around and deciphering the map. We didn’t end up figuring out how to get on the Eco-Splash zipline until an hour before closing. Turns out we were OBSESSED with it and wished we had done it first, so we could have done it more!
Planning Your Route Through Scape Park
Because some of the attractions are far apart, you need to allow walking time, etc. If I could do it over, I would definitely go through the park in a different order. Keep reading for my ideal park route including how long I would spend in each place!
Attractions at Scape Park
There are so many things to do at Scape Park! We did as many as we could, but there were a few things that we just didn’t have time for. So, I am going to share some information about each attraction, and for those that I did visit, I’ll also share some tips about my experience. Attractions I personally visited are highlighted in pink!
Zip Line Eco-Splash
This was our absolute FAVORITE. It is actually a zip line circuit, which we didn’t realize until we finally got on it. On a zip line circuit you have multiple zip lines that you progress through. So, after you ride the first zip line they unclip you and you walk (a very short distance) to the next zip line. Since you get harnessed at the very first zip line, they just clip you on each zip line after that. I believe there were 4 or 5 zip lines in this circuit.
As we walked through the park, we kept seeing people zip lining around us, but we didn’t realize they were all part of one circuit. The map did not make that very obvious. Unfortunately, by the time we figured this out, we only had time to do it twice. Everyone in our group LOVED it, so we would have done this zip line circuit 4 or 5 times if we could have. *Note: It does require shoes, and you WILL get wet on the last zip line. So, definitely wear your swimwear and water shoes!
Time to set aside: 20 to 25 minutes to complete the full circuit. You get on this zip line circuit at the front of the park, by the monkeys. It is probably a 5 minute walk back to the front of the park, so set aside around 30 minutes to enjoy this zip line circuit.
Super Ride Zip Line
This is a zip line that you ride like super man, hence the name. Two people in our group did this zip line and they said it was awesome!
Time to Set Aside: You get on this zip line in the back of the park, so plan on a 5 to 10 minute walk depending on where you are at in the park. The ride ends at the front of the park.
Saltos Azules

This was VERY fun! It is absolutely gorgeous, and there are a ton of activities to do here. You can swim in the gorgeous water, do the hammock zipline, another splash zip line, and the monkey jump (where you hang on the bar and drop into the water). You NEED water shoes for everything at this attraction!
Time to Set Aside: This is at the back of the park, but it is still only a 5 minute walk. You could spend a lot of time at this place. I would set aside about 1 hour if you plan to do and see everything at Saltos Azules.
Blue Hole Cenote

This was really gorgeous but it was a long hike to get there. It probably took 20 minutes to get to there and the hike was straight through the jungle. It was a really cool hike, but when we started walking, we had no clue it was going to be such a long ways! However, it was absolutely worth it. When we got there, it was so incredible and beautiful and the kids loved jumping in and swimming!
Time to Set Aside: 20 minute hike there and back. 30 to 45 minutes to swim in the cenote. 1.5 hours total.
Cultural Route and Cenote Swim

This was neat. You get to hike through a jungle trail, and there are cool cultural sites to look at along the way. There is also a cave cenote with crystal clear waters where you are allowed to get in and swim. The walk to this attraction was probably about 10 minutes. It was gorgeous and definitely a site to see!
Time to Set Aside: I’m estimating we walked this trail and visited the cenote in about 30 minutes. If you decide to swim in the cenote, probably allow another 15 minutes. So, set aside 45 min. to 1 hour for this attraction.
Iguanaland and Faunaland

Both of these are right at the front of the park. You can walk through and see iguanas up close and personal. There are also adorable monkeys that were very active and fun to watch! The kids really liked both of these attractions!
Time to set aside: 20 minutes. These are both located right at the front of the park, and you can take as much time as you want at each. We probably spent about 20 minutes.
Iguabonita Cave
This looks cool, but we did not go through this while we were at Scape Park. If I go back, I do want to visit the Iguabonita Cave.
El Rancho
This was basically a little petting zoo. We did not go into this, as my kids were not interested.
Rope Runners
This is a rope course. Our group did not do this either, but it looked really neat!
Optional Attractions – *Additional Fees
There are three optional add-ons that you can enjoy at Scape Park. However, with your park admission, you can only add one of these three. We did not purchase any of these additions.
- Getaway Wheels: 4×4 offroad buggies. Must be 13 years old to ride, and 18 years old to drive a buggy. One of my kids was under this age limit, so we did not ride the buggies.
- Cliff Hangers: Climb the Farallon cliffs. Includes instructors and all equipment.
- Sunshine Cruise: Travel to a Caribbean marina and enjoy snorkeling and the “Natural Pool.”
My Ideal Scape Park Route (If I Go Again)
As you know by now, I would have visited the attractions in a different order than I did, if I had known more about the park and the proximity of the attractions. If I could go back, here is the route I would take and how long I would spend at each attraction. I think this order makes the most efficient use of time, while ensuring you get to see and experience almost everything!
- Iguanaland/Fauanaland – I would visit these first because they are the first attractions when you come in. 15 to 20 minutes
- Zip Line Eco Splash – I would do this second, because it is right at the entrance. Plus, this was my favorite part of Scape Park. 30 minutes for one ride
- Saltos Azules – Since this is a short distance away from the Eco-Splash, I would head over to the Saltos Azules and swim and do all the zip lines and activities offered there. 1 to 1.5 hours
- Blue Hole Cenote – After the Saltos Azules, the Blue Hole Cenote would be a good next stop. Reminder, this is a long walk. 1.5 hours
- Super Ride Zip Line – On the way back from the Blue Hole Cenote, hop on the Super Ride, which will take you to the front of the park. 15 minutes
- Cultural Route and Cenote Swim – The Cultural Route and Cenote swim is towards the front of the park, so that would be the perfect next attraction to stop by. 30 minutes
- Zip Line Eco Splash (Again) – I would get back on this and keep riding it until the park closes! 😊1.5 hours (or however much time I have left)
If you use your time wisely and thoughtfully plan your route, you’ll have a much better experience.
What to Bring To Scape Park
Before you go to Scape Park in Punta Cana, you need to have these essentials with you! Pack a small bag to carry these essentials!
- Waterproof Phone Cases – I bought a multi-pack of these and we wore them around our neck. You are going to want to take photos, and you can wear these in the water to get the best shots! I love all my photos from Scape Park, so you WILL want to have these on hand! I can vouch for these waterproof phone cases: Waterproof Phone Cases
- Water Shoes – When we went, we did not have these, and SO wished we would have. At Scape Park shoes are required on the main zip lines. Since we didn’t have water shoes, we had to get our tennis shoes soaking wet. Don’t be like us… bring water shoes! Adult Water Shoes | Kids Water Shoes
- Sunscreen. Bring your own sunscreen, and apply frequently! This sunscreen is my favorite: Sunscreen SPF 50
- Cheap Sunglasses. I recommend bringing multiple pairs of inexpensive sunglasses. Grab a multi-pack of sunglasses, and you’ll be all set. Multi-pack Men’s Polarized Sunglasses | Women’s 3-pack Sunglasses
- Swimwear. Wear swimwear under your regular clothes at Scape Park. I highly recommend the swim trunks with the boxer briefs built-in, so you don’t get chafing. Check out my favorite swim trunks for boys here: Boy’s Swim Trunks
- Anti-Chafing Stick. I use the Friction Defense by Gold Bond, and it works wonders. Bring this along and apply often! Anti-Chafing Stick
- Padlock. Bring a padlock for a locker.
- Towel. You may want to have a towel with you, as you will get wet at Scape Park! These lightweight beach towels are less bulky and perfect for packing.
Was Scape Park Cap Cana Worth It? Would I Go Again?

Without hesitation, Yes! I would go to Scape Park Punta Cana again, and I really hope I get the chance to do that! I had so much fun, and after going once, I know what to do to get the most out of this gorgeous excursion destination!
Conclusion: Final Thoughts and Recommendations
While we made some mistakes on our first trip to Scape Park Punta Cana, I still really feel like we made a really good excursion choice! It was the perfect place for families with pre-teens and teens. There’s really something for everyone there! I loved Scape Park, and I would definitely love to plan a repeat trip!
